Now I don't feel so weird for my habit of blurting out compliments to strangers. By the same token, I do love not having to be good all the time. Thank you for the stylish reminder--that would be a great t-shirt.

Years ago I was standing, overstimulated, in a busy convention hall when an ordinary-looking woman passed by. In her wake I was suddenly overcome by a profound sense of calm and ease. I'm not normally a talk-to-strangers person, but I had to let her know, so I tapped her on the shoulder and told her. She immediately teared up and asked if she could hug me. She said she was having a really hard day and that my comment was exactly what she needed. All of this is to say that I guarantee your blurted-out compliments have eased someone's hardship and softened their day.

And oh no... do I need to print tshirts now? You make a compelling point. ❤️🖤
